The Israel-based rock band reflect upon a bad relationship on a new song.

Relationships are liable to be a little unstable on occasion. It’s when the unseen ooze seeps out the cracks that the poison finally reaches the brain stem. Israel rock band Iris Hill ⏤ of Nati Twina (lead vocal, rhythm guitar), Roy Assodri (lead guitar, vocals), Amit Mosberg (bass guitar, vocals) and Guy Dekel (drums, vocals) ⏤ wade into the complexities of a particular sour relationship, the uncertainty tracing their outlines. Heavily influenced by Arctic Monkeys’ Favorite Worst Nightmare (2007), “Boy I Love You” reconfigures the story through their perspective and allows even the surging neon-hewn electric guitar to play a vital part. “There’s a difference between can’t and won’t / And I guess that’s fair / Well, it doesn’t matter / You’ve got your own thing / I’ve got my own life,” frontman Twina concedes. He soon allows the reality to pummel him, as the sun just peeks over the horizon ⏤ “it is what it is,” he seems to say.
