We’ve all got a few fairweather friends fluttering in the wind somewhere. Once vital to our lives, they now exist in faint memories and ghosts that haunt our dreams. With her new song, aptly titled “Fairweather Friends,” Nikki White muses upon her own brushes with such once-friendly specters. “How did you become a stranger to me?!” she provokes. Electric guitars blister the skin, with percussion throbbing with unholy propulsion. “I got one too many fairweather friends,” rings the hook like a fire alarm. Sparks emit from her fingertips, as she learns to untangle and let go of those fairweather relationships. It’s time.
