Welcome to Taste Test, a song/video review series of SubmitHub-only gemstones

The Philosopher “stands on the edge, looking down,” sings Luna Keller. With a song titled “The Philosopher,” the singer-songwriter conjures up a metaphor for overthinkers who get so lost in their own minds that the present is like watching sands dribble through an hourglass. This person, representative of us all, sooner or later, has “a lot of doubt” about the world and what it means to be alive. As a result, there’s no getting back all the time wasted mulling over what could, should, or would be. Instead, The Philosopher drowns in their own imagination. Keller’s voice is angelic, swooping over the melody as agile as a crane over a nearby reed-speckled lagoon. It’s a wondrous, magical performance that should provoke the listener to find their own answers, without overthinking, of course.
