Bad Flamingo strips things back for a more somber, introspective moment with their new song, “Velvet.” Instruments ring like a set of windchimes, gently blowing through songbird vocals. “We look, and we wonder,” the duo sings in the enchanting opening line. Their voices are windswept and echo from here to yonder. You don’t know where they’re headed, but you follow anyway. There’s something entrancing about the way they carve out melodies, and, in particular, this torch ballad scorches everything it touches.
