Trans/non-binary country singer-songwriter Bobby Dove conjures up a witchy concoction with their music video, “Fortune Teller.” A hypnotic melody stirs something enchanting down inside, as Dove wonders a thrift store and stumbles upon a fortune teller booth. Dove’s eyes pop with wonder at the shop’s many gadgets and trinkets. They almost glow like a Christmas tree topper. Dove, whose voice runs smooth as whiskey, soars in a surprisingly somber production.
“Fortune Teller” is the title cut to Dove’s third album, out now via New Motor Records.
