There’s danger in being vulnerable. It takes a great amount of trust to cross that threshold. With “Willing to Die,” pop conjurer Bryce Xavier invites the listener through a glass maze of deep reflection, as he undergoes a transformation and allows himself to expose the tendons of his heart. The song features shimmering production so intoxicating that it’s hard to listen to literally anything else. The song slowly opens up, much like a butterfly emerging from its cocoon, and when it finally flutters into the light, it’s magnificent.
