Taste Test: Ellen Krauss provokes her detractors with new song, ‘Let Me Have It’

The electro-pop rising star continues to offer irresistible bangers.

Oddly, there’s a strength that comes with simply accepting things as they are. It can be even the most poisonous of situations – perhaps false accusations are hurled your way or you find yourself in a tango with jealousy. Electro-pop rising star Ellen Krauss tears away her every inhibitor as a masquerade mask and allows the punches to hit her jaw line. “Let Me Have It” burns as dry ice, and Krauss’ voice evokes now-decayed misery out of which she now emerges even more determined. She exchanges such emotional currency for her own act of retribution. “Well, if you got something to say / Go say it to my face / Don’t try to hide it,” she wields the words as sharpened daggers. She goes right for her own retaliatory jab and eventually rises triumphant.

“Let Me Have It” is the latest in an impressive string of singles, including the shoulda-been-smash “On the Bus.”
