Welcome to Freshly Squeezed, a weekly new music playlist: spanning country, pop, EDM and urban, mainstream and other.

Pop craftsman Prince Fox gives Shoffy’s “Cool Again” a glittering facelift just in time for New Year’s Eve. It’s a heart-pounding anthem given an extended life with disco synths and euphoric distortions that slither under the skin. Prince Fox, who has delighted us this year with a blockbuster of singles, including “Rock Paper Scissors,” “Fake It” and the alarmingly-addicting cover of Jimmy Eat World’s signature “The Middle,” is a showman of the greatest order. His melodies stick on the skull and shock the system from the inside out, subsequently electrifying the veins with pop majesty.

Life in Doubt flutter through the Christmas haze with the arsenic-laced “Blossom,” which seems to prick the senses in playfully-twisted and dark compositions. It rattles and cracks the bones, and despite little to no vocal inflections, there is something tremendously intoxicating and blissful about the piece, drenched in a haunting, nearly sinister, undercurrent. Catastrophe Kills picks up the mantel with an equally-somber arrangement, bending in a hip-hop flourish with a plainspoken, yet biting, vocal phrasing. It’s as sweet as it is venomous, executing a commanding, genre-bleeding blend.

Cigarettes After Sex give best-selling country duo Brooks & Dunn’s “Neon Moon” an appropriately contemplative and smoke-soaked re-imagination. It’s sobering and moody, injecting the typically yee-haw honky-tonk with a much heavier sensibility. “Now if you lose your one and only / There’s always room here for the lonely / To watch your broken dreams / Dance in and out of the beams / Of a neon moon,” frontman Greg Gonzalez whispers, wrenching his heart from his chest in between bangs and clashes of percussion.

The playlist, the final one of 2018, also includes: BUEL, Riaan Smit, T. Thomason, Sarah Wild, Hope Vista, WINNER, Galantis, Neon Bunny, Courtney Act, WILKES and more!

In all, we’ve got 20 new songs to get busy with for the new year.

Each playlist will be refreshed every Friday morning/afternoon. We reserve the right to update anytime during the week, so make sure you bookmark this page.
