Welcome to Pop, Lock & Bops, a monthly playlist series documenting our favorite windswept country tunes, heartfelt tearjerkers and down-right intoxicating dirty-pop club bangers.

You better hold onto your hats (or wigs or seats), folks! The latest iteration of our month-to-month best-of playlist jump stars with a new Lucie Silvas cut called “Kite,” which continues her hearty blend of blues, rock and pop in satisfying fashion. It’s the first taste of her long (x100) awaited new record E.G.O. (out later this summer), her first since 2015’s exemplary Letters to Ghosts. Tami Neilson then snarls out a sinister “Devil in a Dress,” biting and languid, a blasting song from her new record, SASSAFRAS!, to which we gave an honorable mention in our Best Albums of 2018 (so far) scorecard.

Allie X is a silky snake-charmer with her new song called “Focus.” Meanwhile, underrated fave Haley Reinhart strips back for “Last Kiss Goodbye.” Ripe discovery Stela Cole is sweet but bitter Nutella, as she spits at a former lover to “You FO”; Mallrat picks up some “Groceries”; and Alex Clare goes raw and acoustic and unhinged with “Hope She’ll Be Happier.” Many performances are lean and mean and still others utilize bold and glitter-raved arrangements to give you a cathartic release, shedding those heavier emotions for ripped, midnight fun on the dance floor. But at the core of both, there lies a deeply-planted humanity, ready to burst at the seams and explode into the starry ether.

The new playlist also features Devin Kennedy, The WLDLFE, Smoke Season, Karen Jonas, Kelsey Waters, OMYO, Steve Moakler, John Santiago, Finn Matthews, Caye, Cappa, Andrew Combs, Greyson Chance, Mason Ramsey, Becky Hill, Oh Jeremiah, Loote, SHAED and Cory Stewart, among others.

When all is said and done, we’ve got 96 (!!!) songs of which we can’t seem to get enough. Won’t you partake, too?
