Stephen Day has a way of wrapping his warm vocals around indelible melodies that are so transcendent, they defy time and space. “Mama, I Found Your Guitar” etches the roots of his musical beginnings, with his mother, a church choir singer with a guitar, and how influential she was to his training. The song tastes sweet, tantalizingly so, and Day crafts one of his most affecting performances to date. You just have to let it wash over you.
