The Cedar Shakers send flames from their fingertips with their new song. “Dance with Me” is that first spark from a campfire, just as it breaks into the cool night air and brightens up the woodlands. Guitars and other strings vibrate with a giddy-up gallop that drives the vocals further and further to the edge. “Spent the last 10 years getting kicked / Hey, baby, that’s how it goes” falls like a dead tree in a forest. It might have been tough going, but they’re better for the journey in the rear view mirror. Sometimes, that’s just how it goes.
