Welcome to Taste Test, a song/video review series of SubmitHub-only gemstones

Acoustic renditions of full-bodied pop songs don’t always stick ⏤ which is strange as most songs are written on simple piano or guitar. Fortunately, Vera Blue soars with a stripped iteration of “Lie to Me,” discarding the pulsating and plush production for an honest, raw, and moving performance. “Catch the corner of my eye,” she pleads. Her acoutsic guitar sheds tears, too, leaving the listener totally exhausted by the end.
