Welcome to Freshly Squeezed, a weekly new music playlist: spanning country, pop, EDM and urban, mainstream and other.

I’ve never added an entire EP or album into the weekly playlist, but as Woman Nashville tweeted this morning, Mickey Guyton‘s new EP, Bridges, is the most important release of 2020. Her voice is strong, and her lyrics are stronger. From “Heaven Down Here” to “Black Like Me,” Guyton spills the tea and speaks the truth. Listen up and pay attention.

One of New York City’s premiere staples, queer singer-songwriter Kyle Motsinger slinks and sinks into a jazzy and deliciously enticing performance. “Loner,” samping his second album, Any Way I Want It To, an sparkling musical buffet, is like downing a glass of cabernet sauvignon, laced with a blackberry twinge. “Now, everyone’s a loner just like me,” he sings, an observation on the current state of the world. Motsinger is always one to bring the theatrical bite, and that’s why his work is so charming. Dive in.

The playlist also includes Callum Pitt, HOAX, Louis Jarto, Brit Taylor, stepmom, Joshua Hyslop, Simon Lunche, Will Payne Harrison, and many others!

In all, we’ve got 30 new tracks to soothe your mind during these terrible pandemic times. Insert heart emoji.

Each playlist will be refreshed every Friday or Saturday. We reserve the right to update anytime during the week, so make sure you bookmark this page.
