Welcome to Taste Test, a song/video review series of SubmitHub-only gemstones

We’ve been screaming about o Limón Limón for awhile now. You listening yet? No? Well, buckle up. The pandemic drags on, tempers are rising, and idiots abound. Fortunately, the alt-pop duo dishe up a vital reprieve with a juicy, flavorful entry. “Frozen Lemonade” sticks to what works, funkadelic soundscapes lapping against a mainstream altar. It’s astounding how consistent they’ve been in their songbook so far, from “Routine” to “Barcelona Night.” They can’t be stopped! “Every single day gets closer to the end of the summer nights / We’re out of time,” singer Jason bays. Collaborator Rand constructs a sturdy synth wash, guitar and percussion straddling the glossier elements. It’s what we’ve come to love about the rising musical pair, and their style is so addicting, it might be agonizing waiting for that album.
