Trans love is a special kind of love. With their new song, “kiddy scissors,” Leilani Patao muses on the beautiful collision that happens when one trans person falls in love with another trans person. “You look so beautiful when I ask you to dance,” Patao sings over muted guitar and drums. “And I love what we’re becoming. I cut your hair, and you like it.” From the syrupy vocals to the melody’s hypnotic swirl, it’s as sweet as the nectar of a thousand gods.
